Pellamere is an independent publisher. We build English-language websites that teach practical skills, and we write them to stand on their own: clear, accurate, and free to read.
What we publish
Our sites cover the kind of thing people teach themselves at home: an instrument, a language, a craft, a garden. Each site is a long-term project with a single subject, written for a reader who wants to get better at something rather than be sold something.
How we work
- Useful without the products. Every article has to be worth reading even if every recommendation in it were removed. If a page only exists to point at a product, we do not publish it.
- Checked, named sources. Where a claim rests on a source, we say which one. Where something is our judgment, we say that too.
- Honest about money. Some of our sites earn a commission when a reader buys a course or tool we recommend. Those links are disclosed on the page, and a recommendation is never for sale.
- Light on data. We do not run advertising trackers on this site, and our websites collect as little as their hosting requires. See our privacy notice.
